One of the most important things to think about when selecting a promotional item is the impact it will have on customers and the number of people it will reach. When you buy a cheap gimmick item, it most likely will end up in the trash in a day or two, if not sooner. People will look at it and use it briefly, and then it either breaks or they get bored with it and toss it in the trash, and that’s the end of it. And while these items may be cheap, do they really give you the exposure you need? Say you buy 500 of these cheap trinkets. You pass them out to 500 people (or less if they take two), and it’s a one and done!
With a custom umbrella, you get so much more for your money! Do they cost more? Of course, but the exposure you get is far greater and will garner you attention for years to come. When you put your company logo on a custom umbrella, you are essentially creating a walking billboard for your brand! Think about it, every time it rains, and the recipient of that umbrella uses it, and your company logo is seen by everyone they pass that day! If you give away 500 Umbrellas, and each person is only seen by five people if they use it one time, that’s 2,500 people that see your name in just one day. But you know that count will be much higher! Even if the user only runs in and out of one building, they are going to be seen by at least 20 people (10,000 total) – every time it rains!
Custom umbrellas are reusable year after year, which means that you are effectively buying say, 5 years’ worth of advertising at one time. So while the initial investment may be higher, you will get so much more out of your advertising dollars. Take a look at your marketing budget over the next few years, and you’ll see how much sense it really makes!
